In a game of rugby there is only one thought process that determines every action taken by the team: that is to touch the ball down over the goal line.
Rugby is not like soccer although it is a natural evolution of that game. It was started by William Web Ellis who followed his finely developed instincts by picking up the ball in a soccer match and running with it ( he broke a rule he thought limiting, starting a fine tradition of civil disobedience that was later adopted by Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King)
You find so many drawn to the game because they want to be different, something exciting and new and even something that others might be just fearful of.
To put it simply rugby is not just a game but rather a lifestyle its essence is not drawn simply from the physical competition on the field, but also from the camaraderie that develops from sharing such an uncommon-common bond.
